THE LANDSCAPING PROJECT.

Each year since we have moved into our home we have tackled a home improvement project. Sometimes they are large, sometimes they are not so large. Sometimes we do the work, sometimes we hire people who actually know what they are doing. Past projects have been the un-pool, the new roof, and Beths room.

This year (actually starting last year), we have decided to re-landscape the front yard.

So far we have removed the old spruce trees and juniper. We have replaced the underground main plumbing supply line from the water meter at the street to our house. We have added a new plumbing supply line for the new sprinklers. We have removed the old concrete walk way between the driveway and the house entry, and replaced it with a new walk, extending to the front sidewalk. We have removed about 12 yards of old dirt, and 8 yards of rocks (sifted by hand!). We still plan on putting in new plants and trees and a new lawn with new sprinklers, and lights.

We chronicle our progress here, for your entertainment.

Phase I August 19 - Out with the old trees . . .
Phase II September 14 - Ditch digging for the water main . . .
